Matthew Goette, CFA, CFP®, AIF®

Matt Goette founded Black Diamond Financial in 2007 and serves as the firm’s President and Chief Investment Officer. He is also a member of its Investment Committee. Mr. Goette specializes in advising high-net-worth families to achieve their financial goals by implementing low-cost, tax-efficient investment strategies. Mr. Goette also has experience advising investment committees for foundations, endowments, and pension plans, as well as working with companies to construct low-cost, highly diversified 401(k) retirement plans.

Previously, Mr. Goette was a senior investment professional in the Venture Capital Group of Harbert Management Corporation where he invested in technology and healthcare companies. Prior to joining Harbert, Mr. Goette spent five years with Jefferies & Company, Inc. in their Investment Banking Group. While at Jefferies, he helped orchestrate numerous merger and acquisition, restructuring, equity, and debt transactions. Prior to joining Jefferies, he worked in the Investment Banking Group of BB&T Corporation.

Mr. Goette holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double major in finance and economics from The College of William and Mary, where he graduated with High Honors and was a Division 1 athlete in track & field and cross-country. Mr. Goette is also a Chartered Financial Analyst, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Accredited Investment Fiduciary, and member of the CFA Society of Baltimore.
