L. Dyson Dryden IV

Dyson brings over two decades of investing and financial advisory experience to his advisory role with Black Diamond Financial, LLC.

He previously served as President of Capitol Investment Corp V, a $345 million public investment vehicle which completed its $3 billion business combination with Doma in 2021, Capitol IV, a $402.5 million public investment vehicle which completed its $1.1 billion business combination with Nesco in 2019, and Capitol III, a $325 million public investment vehicle which completed its $2.4 billion business combination with Cision in 2017. He served as Chief Financial Officer of Capitol II, a $200 million public investment vehicle which completed an investment in Lindblad Expeditions in 2015.

Dyson held the role of Managing Director in Citigroup’s Investment Banking division in New York where he led the coverage effort for many of the firm’s Global Technology, Media and Telecommunications clients from 2005 to 2013. Prior to joining Citi, Dyson worked at Jefferies & Company, Inc., from 2000 to 2005, and before that worked in the Investment Banking Group at BB&T Corporation. Over the course of his investment banking career, he completed over $40 billion in equity and debt financings and executed over $35 billion in mergers and acquisitions transactions.

Dyson currently serves on the board of directors of Lindblad Expeditions Holdings, Inc. and CDS Logistics Management, Inc. In 2018, he co-founded Washington E-Sports Ventures, LLC and purchased an Overwatch League Team bringing the premier global esports league to the Baltimore / Washington, DC region. He also serves on Calvert School’s Board of Trustees. Dyson has a Bachelor of Science in Business with a dual concentration in finance and management from the University of Richmond and holds a Series 65 securities license.
