Rob Tobin is a Partner of the firm and serves as a trusted advisor to wealthy families and institutional investors.
Previously, Mr. Tobin served as Chief Investment Officer of Persimmon Capital Partners, a private single-family office. In this capacity, he managed all aspects of the business including public and private investments, portfolio allocation strategy, estate and tax strategy and credit relationships.
Prior to joining Persimmon Capital Partners, Mr. Tobin served as an investment professional with ABS Capital Partners, a middle-market growth private equity firm. He helped structure investments including corporate carve-outs, management buy-outs, control buy/build strategies and minority growth investments. Prior to ABS Capital Partners, he served as an investment banker with Friedman Billings Ramsey advising growth-oriented private and public clients.
Mr. Tobin earned an MBA from Columbia Business School. He completed the full pre-medical curriculum and received a BA in Economics with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. At UNC, he was awarded a position on the GTE Academic All-American Team, received the ACC Scholar-Athlete Award, received the Athletic Director’s Scholar-Athlete Award, received the Reichardt Memorial Award and was a member of the UNC Varsity Lacrosse Team.
Mr. Tobin spent over a decade on the Board of Trustees of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Maryland Chapter and currently serves on the Board of The Kevin E. Reichardt Foundation.
